Granny Smith Apples

Crisp, fresh apples are in peak season!

Nutrition Facts:

  • Good source of Fiber
  • Good source of Vitamin C
  • Good source of Potassium
  • 75 calories per serving (1 cup)

Selection and Preparation:

  1. Choose apples that are firm, with no soft spots. Skin should be bright green with a pink blush.
  2. Wash apples well with soap and rinse with water.
  3. Prepare apple dishes just before serving to minimize browning (oxidation). Protect cut apples from oxidation by dipping them into a solution of one part citrus juice and three parts water.

Tips:
Pick up bags of pre-sliced grannies at your local market for a quick and easy way to enjoy an apple a day!
