Exercise for travel:
- optimally book a hotel that will put a treadmill/exercise kit in your room; here is a link to find them http://www.inroomfitness.com/ but Westin, some Marriott and other chains; they are becoming more prevalent; good idea to book them as I have found them to be sold out
- if not available in room, book a hotel with a 24 hour fitness center; this reduces crowding early in the morning
- ask for a room upgrade so you have more space to do your own exercises in the room
- alternately ask if a handicapped room is available; they are always larger
- remember to take your mp3 player in case someone else controls the remote (and you don’t care for what is on)
- if you exercise in the morning get a wake up call instead of alarm; harder to snooze and if two phones in the room, unplug the one next to the bed so you have to get out of bed to answer
Food:
- if there is not a coffee pot and refrigerator in the room, request them saying “for medical purposes”; they are obligated to provide
- optimally, stay in “suites” hotel with mini kitchens
- suites hotels will shop for you; you may have to ask but many leave shopping list forms on the refrigerator sand generally send someone to the store daily; the more specific you are the happy you will be with someoneelse shopping for you
probably many more … I will think about it on my trips in the coming weeks …
