Jeffrey A. Sandler, M.D. |
Medical Director
Dr. Sandler has more than 25 years of distinguished
experience as a board-certified Internist and Endocrinologist
and is a leading weight-loss specialist in San Diego.
As Medical Director of IHM, Dr. Sandler brings invaluable
knowledge and professionalism to the Institute for Health
Maintenance. In addition to his medical directorships
at IHM and the Scripps Whittier Diabetes Program, Dr.
Sandler is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University
to California, San Diego (Volunteer Faculty). |
Jeffrey W. Penner, Ph.D. |
Director of Educational Services
Dr. Penner has more than 20 years of experience in weight management, working directly with patients
as well as developing clinical programs. Dr. Penner has been a valuable member of IHM since 1981.
In 1987 he developed the smoking cessation program currently used nationally by
Health Management Resources™ (HMR®). Dr. Penner has been a licensed psychologist since 1981
and has additional expertise in diabetes education. |
Sheri Leiter, M.A., M.S.W.

Director of Operations
Ms. Leiter joined the IHM professional staff
in 1993 and has been involved in weight management for
more than 15 years. Ms. Leiter has a Masters degree in
Applied Exercise Physiology and a Masters degree in Social
Work. Her clinical experience has involved research and
direct patient care. As an exercise specialist, Ms. Leiter
offers particular expertise in developing exercise programs
for weight-loss clientele. |
